Parents are being urged to keep tabs on their kids computer use to keep them safe from internet predators. This is internet predators prevention week.
Karen Kilpatrick of the Pitt County Sheriff's Office says the key way to prevent your children from being a victim is to monitor their computer use. She says keep the computer in a central place, and be cautious of social networking sites. Also, be careful of your kids posting photos because they can get into the wrong hands.
The sheriff's office doesn't have a program to teach internet safety to schools, so they ask parents to make sure to speak to their kids.
