Digital Health Record System To Be In ENC

New technology in Eastern Carolina is making a big difference when it comes to patient care.

The Obama administration has called for all physician practices in the U.S. to use digital health record systems by 2014.

That's one of the reasons health-span, a patient record system, is being installed at University Health Systems throughout Eastern Carolina.

Right now, more than one-million records are already in the system...a program that provides doctors with information on the spot like a patent's medical history, their allergies, and previous lab work.

By the time installation is complete, UHS will have invested over 40-million dollars in the program.

Just something else to drive cost up even higher. Soon the health industry will be like the auto makers, no one will be able to afford it and they will be looking for bailout.
