Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Letter carriers from across Greenville and surrounding areas did their part Saturday to help in the fight against hunger

Dubbed the 17th annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Letter carriers performed double duty Saturday on their routes delivering mail and collecting food items to benefit the food bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

Last year more than 240 thousand pounds of non-perishable food items were collected along postal routes.

The carriers them self were more than happy to work a little extra.

Volunteers were on hand at the postal branches to unload the items collected.

I put out a bag of food and the mail carrier dropped off the mail and left the food. He did the same thing last year. I won't try to participate next year!
