WITN's "Just Ask Mike" and two representatives from the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C. were on hand Wednesday at the Martin County Senior Fest to answer questions about the transition to digital television.
WITN and the FCC set up informational booths with brochures and digital to analog converters hooked to old analog TV sets to explain the change taking place. In addition "Just Ask Mike" and the FCC were on hand to answer questions and demonstrate how digital-to-analog television converters are hooked up and operated.
In addition the FCC representatives assisted seniors is submitting requests for government coupons to assist with the purchase of digital converters.
The Senior Fest ran from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Bob Martin Agricultural Center in Williamston off Hwy 64. The event was sponsored by the Martin County Council on Aging. Almost 40 vendors will be on hand offering information and advice for seniors.
