Miss USA 2009 Appears On "Today"

Miss USA 2009 Kristen Dalton appeared on the "Today Show" on Wednesday morning.

Dalton, an ECU student and a native of Wilmington, N.C., was crowned Miss USA 2009 on Sunday in Las Vegas.

The Today Show hosts asked Dalton about the controversy surrounding Miss California. Carrie Prejean appeared on the "Today Show" Tuesday, defending her answer to a question about gay marriage during the pageant.

Dalton said on "Today" that she was proud of Miss California for speaking from her heart.

Al Roker asked Dalton whether she was surprised by the political nature of the questions during this year's pageant. Dalton replied that she was pleased at the tone of the questions, saying the prove that Miss USA is "fresh and relevant," and that the contestants are both beautiful and intelligent.

Matt Lauer joked that he was going to ask Dalton how she would have responded to the question of whether all states should legalize gay marriage, but instead ended the interview with congratulating Dalton.

Dalton will compete in the Miss Universe Pageant in August.

Miss USA Won her crown fair & square. Carrie Prejean would not have even been able to keep the crown had she won it, obviously. She can't even keep a Miss California crown! And it is not because of her religious beliefs, but because she signed a contract, and did not stick to it. Nude pictures & lies, and so much more, all her own doing, got her crown taken. How do you think she'd do as a Miss USA?? Yeah, not so great.

She won her title because the woman who was clearly in the lead was asked to give her opinion on a controversial political issue, and happened to have one that the judge who asked it didn't agree with, enough so that he was incensed at her for holding a different political opinion to call her a dumb b****. If the "winner" has any class at all, she will realized the injustice of this and hand the crown to Miss California, who was the favorite until she revealed that her political views, held my a majority of people in her state, differed from a few of the judges. It would be the right thing to do. I doubt that that matters to her though - she looks so happy with that little tiara.

Congrats Miss USA, you are a beautiful young lady. You won it fare and square. There are many pretty ECU young ladies. Some of these people up here have nothing good to say about anything WITN puts up here. And to the man that does not like N.C. GET OUT! Stop complaing. I LOVE NORTH CAROLINA! (Sorry for shouting WITN) Go ECU.

Millie, who cares what the comments were. I am against gay marriage but I dont really care what her beleifs were based on that. She won. She represents NC. She represents ECU and the Chi-O soroity. She is also friends with my wife. As far as character, yes she does have real good character. She is not only beautiful, but very smart, and has a great personality. What's up with these negative comments about Kristen? I stand behind her. Of course, it does not surprise me that you are from Bertie, cause Bertie people in general have had the history of being so negative about things in general anyways, and have been known to start drama with Martin County people. Kathy, Dave apparently is moving to Steel City PA in January of 2010. I could guess on why he is tired of the inlaws. Probably too much ECU talk for him!

After hearing her comments on gay marriage on the Today program, I am ashamed she is representing the state of NC, and if she was honest, she would forfeit the crown. Miss California earned her crown in Christ. She's got real character. Dalton real nothing.

Kathy you must be one heck of a waitress to be in the high tax bracket that you claim to be in.

Oh I get it now you two. You are both on disability and have moved to the this state to take advantage of us and get this "free" money that my high tax bracket provides for you. Yep. you've really snowed us this time! Go ECU, go Miss USA and go somewhere else Dave and Rob!

Thanks Rob! Your comments bring a smile to my face and I enjoy reading them. It's about time people took a stand against these Greenvillian's and let them know how lost they really are!
