The economy has taken its toll on another Eastern Carolina Company. Come June 30th North Carolina Asahi will shut its doors for business.
According to ASMO Human Resource Manager Royce Davis about 100 Asahi employees will be let go. ASMO and Asahi are separate companies but operate at the same Greenville facility.
Davis says ASMO will be integrating Asahi’s operations into its own. Asahi currently supplies ASMO with automotive parts. ASMO is also a manufacturing company that makes electric motors.
Davis says a number of Asahi’s employees will be hired by ASMO but there’s no word yet on exactly how many.
