Greenville City Council made a final decision Thursday night on an ordinance regarding UNK's.

Owner of UNK's, Jeremy Spengemen says the Greenville City Council voted yes on a proposed ordinance that would allow UNK's to be considered in the hybrid category of a restaurant and bar. Spengemen says he has waited over a year for a final decision and is glad that he can finally continue to conduct his business.

In the new ordinance UNK's would only be allowed to be open until 2 am on New Year's Eve.

Story very confusing. Unk's can stay open until 2am every night. Live music must end by 11pm Sun - Thurs. Music until 2am Fri, Sat and New Year's Eve.

When is someone going to open a Hybrid in Star Hill Farm, Brook Valley, Bedford, South Hall, Lynndale, Ironwood? The answer: thats where the developers and city businessmen live. Thank you city council for supporting the people YOU represent.

I love Unk's. Best music scene in Greenville. But, the article is confusing. Is New Year's Eve the only day of the year they can stay open until 2AM? Do they have to close earlier on all other nights? Or, does this mean they can't stay open later than 2AM on New Year's Eve??? What does this mean??

It's about time the city came to a decision and a good one at that.
