High School Student Signs To Play For PCC

It was an exciting day for one senior at Southside High-School who landed a spot on a local college volleyball team.

Daneilya Whitey will be joining Pitt Community College's lineup next year.

Thursday the Bulldog's volleyball coach joined Whitey, her mom, and school officials to celebrate. Whitey, who showed us some of her moves says she knows she's going to have to step up her game next year and is ready for the challenge.

Competition is one of the reasons she enjoys the sport so much. Whitey joins a young team at Pitt next year that finished 18-and 12 last season.

But Tom Marsh who coached PCC earlier in 2000 is back and expects great things from Whitey and the rest of the team.
