Governor Bev Perdue was in the east Friday with a big announcement when it comes to the health of our state.
Perdue announced North Carolina will become one of the largest states to join the partnership to fight chronic disease.
The governor made the announcement on the Brody School of Medicine campus of ECU.
Perdue says her motivation for this announcement comes from the fact that the state and nation cannot control health care costs until we cut back the spread of expensive chronic diseases.
