Twitter seems to be all the rage lately. Fans of the new technology gathered Tuesday night in Greenville.

About two dozen people met downtown in what is called a 'Tweet-Up'. A group called the, Greenville Tweets, formed a Twitter club last October.

The group meets once a month trying to inform people of the networking technology and how it can be used for both personal and business settings.

Brad proctor organizes the Greenville Tweets.

Proctor says he is trying to bring the community of Greenville closer.

Proctor says there are over 500 people in the Greenville Tweets group.

You people keep right on meeting up with people online!Sooner or Later something bad is going to happen.By the way...how do you tell your kids not to meet with strangers online and then you go and do it?Can you Tweeters answer that?

Maybe more people would attend your "tweetups" if you would be a little more helpful in providing information to those of us who know nothing about twitter. Why would we attend a meeting for a technology we don't understand?!

It's a good way to get information. It's a good way to meet people. If your husband can't keep it in his pants, that is going to happen NO matter what. No one needs the internet to cheat, it has been happening forever. This is such a silly sideline and can't stop LOLing (prolly don't know what that means). And meanwhile, you post on THIS which is the big BAD internet that you speak of. If you don't play in traffic, go back and sit on your blanket. CUCKOO! CUCKOO!

I hope those meet and greets do not turn out like some of those"GOLOer's" (WRAL) after meeting.Strangers accusing eachother of flirting with another's husband.Rumors of how much a person drinks, etc.I never went to a GOLO meet n greet and never will.I taught my kids to NOT meet people on the internet and I intend on keeping my example alive even though my kids are now grown.I don't play in traffic.

I think that's great. Finally some good news around Pitt and Beaufort counties. Congrats to the tweeters.
