Winterville Cop Charged After Domestic Call

An 11 year veteran with the Winterville police is on paid suspension after his arrest Tuesday.

Officer Tommy Lymon is charged with domestic trespass and injury to real property in an apparent domestic dispute with his estranged wife.

Winterville police chief Billy Wilkes says Lymon was arrested Tuesday by sheriff deputies. Wilkes says Lymon and his wife had separated about two months ago and Tuesday had an altercation. The chief said there were no reports of an assault, but there was damage to a door.

Wilkes says Lymon has done a good job with the department. He is on paid suspension until the outcome of his trial.

To "Here is your clue", so you're saying if you go out and do something stupid your boss/supervisor should be held accountable. Yes, I understand he is a police officer and should have a certain set of morals, but how can you say the chief should be replaced for something an officer did on his own time. As long as the officer "adheres to the law" there's nothing for the chief to do. However, once that line is crossed the officer should be dealt with appropriately as would any employee in any other type of business.

If a man wrecked his enstranged wife lawn mower would it be a domestic call if the police were called? Whats the difference. If you want someone to look bad one excuse is as good as another

Mr Lymon has a problem adhereing to the law. Comes from his bad habit of being above the law. The police chief needs to be replaced.

EXACTLY... What abuse??? HE was charged with domestic trespassing, not assault on a female! Every incident that happens between male and female is not a "cycle" of abuse! As far as we know, SHE could have been the agressor!

I know both subjects in this incident and for Jesse Bolt the only thing you are doing is going by what you've heard and seen on the news so lets wait for the case to be heard and for the Winterville Police Department they have some great officers working at that agency so we can't let one bad apple continue to taint the image of the Winterville Police Department

To Jesse Bolt: Your comments were a bit presumptuous. Where you there to witness what happened? Refrain from judgment if you weren't. Do you know anyone involved personally? If so, you should wait to till the divorce is final. The article says the guy served for 11 years with Winterville PD-lets wait for the case to conclude.

Remember Thomas Uzenski? He was the hero Winterville cop that found the pipe bombs. He was sentenced to 5 years prison and a $5,000 fine. This puts another black eye on the Winterville police department. I hope Tommy Lymon's estranged wife can break this cycle of abuse.
