Applying math to everyday life was the theme as students from across eastern Carolina battled by putting their math skills to the test Friday.
The fifth annual Math Fair was held at ECU as over 130 students from nine counties and nearly 30 schools participated in the event.
Participants had to ask everyday life questions and then solve them using mathematical formulas and data.
A total of ten winners were picked from grades K-9. The winners will move on to a state level competition in Durham next month.
