Pitt County School Board Approves New School And Several Other Projects

Pitt county schools met Monday night and approved several plans discussed in the long range planning meetings over the past few weeks

Schools spokesperson Heather Mayo says the board approved building a new elementary school that will be located on Allen road. New additions have been approved for D.H. Conley, Eastern Elementary, and Farmville Central high schools.

The faculty will discuss reassigning students at A.G. Cox school over the summer due to overcrowding.

Sewer lines will be run to Chicod, Stokes and Pactolus schools.

Third Street school will be closed and some students will be moved to Sadie Salter school. Sadie Salter will be converted to a pre-k center and will also house some central offices.
