Body Found On Roadside

Lawmen are waiting for autopsy and additional toxicology reports, which they expect to confirm their suspicions of how a Pitt County man died.

Pitt County Sheriff's officials reported Friday afternoon the body found beside a Pitt County roadway Friday morning was that of Brian Green Dollison, age 21, of Pitt County. He has family in Grimesland.

Officials tell us they believe Dollison died of a drug overdose at another location, and his body was most likely dumped off Highway 264 bypass. The body was found near the intersection of N.C. 43 and U.S. 264.

Lawmen tell WITN the person who dumped the body could face a misdemeanor charge of concealing a death.

We'll keep you posted on their investigation.

Previous Story:

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of a body on the side of U.S. 264 bypass, which is named the Martin Luther King Jr. Highway.

Chief James Tripp tells WITN the case is now being treated as a homicide. Tripp says a passerby spotted the body around 7 a.m. Friday. The body was found near the intersection of N.C. 43 and U.S. 264.

Chief Tripp says the body is that of a black man, appearing to be in his teens or early twenties. Lawmen say they are now working on trying to identify the victim.

Sheriff Mac Manning says they now know the identity of the murder victim and deputies will release that information at a 2:00 p.m. news conference.

I don't care if he was white, black, mexican, chinese, green, red, cuban, blue, orange, japanese, purple, aqua, dominican, korean, venezuelan, gray, gold, indian, samoan, brazilian, italian, finnish, austrian, algerian, egyptian, isralei, or saudi arabian. The point is that the boy passed away and we should keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. He was a human being that passed away at a young age. I wish the family the best of luck in the future as well.

I would just like to say that as individuals we need to be careful how we judge people. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes in their lives. Some choices we make have bigger consequences than others. No matter what the cause of this boys death was, he was someone's son and brother and family member, and we need to keep this in mind. I just hope and pray that the people who did this will come forward and turn themselves in for Brian's sake. To the Dollison family and friends my thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I am saddened by Brian's death, not because he was some poor black kid but he was a friend of mine. I dont know how this happened but he did not just decide to screw up his life. He had many family problems and truly felt unwanted. That is the saddest part of it. I am hurting for hit mother brother and sister I know they loved him dearly. Please stop assuming that he was just another black kid on drugs he was so much more than that.

Wow, I am truly saddened by the insensitivity of so many people that have commented this story. No one is above a tragedy happening in their own family. Just because someone is addicted to drugs does not make them a bad person...only a person who has made some poor choices and is probably now in too deep to get out on their own. He could have been a drug addict that was robbing people at gunpoint to feed his addiction but he chose to go and donate plasma for his money. No one is perfect and no one lives a picture perfect life. Let's all please have some sympathy for this 21 year old who lost his life prematurely. And to the family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will be thinking of you all during this difficult time.

No human being should be treated like this. May God seek justice toward the person or people who cowardly killed and dumped his body on the side of the road. To his family, my condolences and my prayers are with you all.
