Even though many people are facing hard economic times an eastern Carolina food bank is asking people not to forget the less fortunate.
Congressman G.K. Butterfield toured the Food Bank of Central and Eastern Carolina in Greenville to highlight the need for people to donate.
Butterfield's office says of the 10 counties the Greenville Food Bank serves more than 10,000 people aged 65 and older and 40,000 kids are at risk of hunger.
The Greenville Food Bank dishes out more than 6.5 million pounds of food to nearly 150 partner agencies.
