Video Store Fire Ruled Intentionally Set

Investigators say a fire this morning at a Greenville video store was intentionally set.

Police responded to Automaton Movies at 10th & Charles Streets to a burglar alarm call at 4:15 a.m. When police arrived they spotted the fire and alerted firefighters. There are reports a back door to the business was found open.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the Campus Store and the Campus Bookstore, which are in the same shopping center. The fire department says the structure itself is okay, but the video store's contents received significant damage.

The fire department says the fire began behind a vending machine in the rear of the business.
