Rose High Student Charged With Robbery

A local high school student got arrested for trying to steal cash right out of the hand of a convenience store clerk.

Greenville Police arrested 16-year-old Demetrius Alston of Glendale Ct. for common law robbery.

Detectives say the Rose High School student lunged across the counter of the Pitt Stop One on Hooker Rd. Friday night, trying to grab the cash the clerk was holding. Police say the clerk pulled out his gun, and the teen took off running. Police chased Alston, and took him into custody.

I believe this young man (thug, whatever) needs to come live with me for one month. His mama, the school or the cops would never have another problem with him. I bet he's never gotten a real spanking in his life. Oh yeah, I was one of the ignorant parents who while I was pregnant proclaimed for all to hear "I'm never going to spank my child because that's just child abuse!" What a fool I was. You cannot negotiate with a child for them to stop acting crazy. You show them one good time what happens to bad little children. I'm not saying bruise them up or break an arm or anything. They got plenty of extra meat on their hindparts that will do.

Good point, Dwayne. It is amazing how only we, the little people, are held accountable for such things as tax fraud and evasion. They'd be all over you or me for that.

Anonymous, connecting country life with thugs from the ghettos of Greenville, Kinston, Wilson, Rocky Mount, Fayetteville etc is just stupid. One has nothing to do with the other.

To:Kathy Location: Washington...What school??? The one that "Reverend Jessie Jackson" went to, or the one that TV evangelists go to. You should really listen to all the Gospel on TV, and you will see why all the kids are confused..They should be barred from TV, but it is a tax deduction for the studios, so they will keep taking money that has embedded "In God We Trust" on it forever. Too many people use GOD for the wrong purpose...

He should say "I'm sorry" and then he should be let go. (Sarcasm intended) It worked for Geithner, Daschle, and even Rodriguez. Our leaders have set examples that lead our youth to believe that there are no real consequences to illegal behavior. Did not Daschle and Geithner rob the taxpayers? I really don't care if I mispelled their names. To me, they are all robbers.

I blame this little back wood, rural, country, mentality for half of the thugs running wild...The parents would be the other the half to blame...

yea, you spank them now so DSS will be at your house at 9:00 in the morning. That used to work for my mom, but now days everybody wants to stick there nose where it dont belong. These kids know what they can and cant do. But like I told my girls when I spank your behind it is for a reason, so if DSS comes up here it better be for a good reason, to take you with them. When they took spankings and punishments out of schools it was the biggest mistakes they made. But I sure pray for all my grandkids.

Seems that the race card and the religion card are one in the same sometimes.

Kathy, that may not be the best advice. There are so many atheists running around college campuses. One religion professor went from a pastor to an agnostic; that just goes to show you what untamed intellect can do to you.
