With just days before his winning ticket was set to expire, a Winterville man is $200,000 richer thanks to the North Carolina Education Lottery.
Ramin Farro bought the winning Poweball ticket July 9th in Greensboro. He put the ticket away in his dresser and quickly forgot about it.
It wasn't until a friend had seen reports about the winning ticket set to expire did he call Farro and remind him of the ticket he bought that same day at the same store.
Farro called the lottery to confirm the winning numbers and picked up his prize on Friday. The Winterville man says he will use the money for investments and maybe take a vacation.
