A mother and her boyfriend have been indicted in her toddler's death.
29-year-old Steven Foreman and 32-year-old Denise Garcia are charged with murder and felony child abuse in the death of two-year-old Da'Jon Roundtree. The little boy was found dead in the couple's home in Grimesland in July, after they had left the state. The grand jury indicted the suspects Monday.
The two were brought back to Pitt County after going to authorities in Caroline County, VA to report the death of the toddler. Deputies found the boy wrapped in a blanket in the couple's Grimesland trailer.
An autopsy says Da'Jon died from a non-accidental head injury that happened July 3. The Medical Examiner says the child died the next morning. Foreman and Garcia reported the death on July 6.
Both suspects remain behind bars.
