Third Arrest Made In Downtown Greenville Assault

Police say they've now arrested a third person for an assault that happened late last month in downtown Greenville.

Greenville police say 16-year-old Jontez Windley turned himself in Monday afternoon.

He, along with Immanuel Crawford and Dominic Green, are charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury and simple assault. The other two suspects were arrested Friday night.

Police say the three assaulted Seth Wright and Thomas Medlin on August 28th in a parking lot at East 5th & Evans. A police report says Wright, who is an ECU student, was seriously injured in the attack.

Detectives say they are trying to see if this assault is related to any others that have happened in the downtown area in recent weeks. Green was arrested two weeks ago for another assault that happened in a parking lot at the corner of 6th & Evans Street.

Growing up with these kid's, it is sad to see. I'm glad they caught the guys that did it. They definitely need jail time HOWEVER, it sad that people keep bringing race into this. Don't assume just because YOU think they thought Seth and Blake were "rich white kids" is the reason they targeted them. No one knows but them. The NAACP definitely IS a joke. No one takes them seriously. It annoys me when people come up to me and say "yea, the dude you graduated with got jumped by these huge black guys!!!!! He lost some teeth!!!!!!" it doesn't matter what race these idiots are. They deserve to get hit, and hit hard. This whole "they not jumping on this white man!!!" is asinine. And pointing out the ridiculousness of the NAACP is irrelevant as that could get very redundant. No one, I mean NO ONE takes them seriously, other than the party/parties they are helping. Please stop judging on race, and the woulda and coulda, and start judging on the actual crime committed.

these thugs did all that in a act of hate they arent worth a crap. they need to be thrown in the big boy jail and see if they'll jump someone in there. i hope they go to jail for a longtime! its a act of crime and if it was white boys who did it yall would have al sharpton down here raising all sorts of ruckus. this is hate and im black and can see that.

To Laquanna; Good boys don't bash other kids in the head until their facial bones are crushed like sawdust and the victim must undergo several reconstructive surgeries just to hopefully live a normal life again. These boys are hardened criminals who knew what they were doing, even targeted these boys, I believe. These boys should be punished to the fullest extent of the law and to Lyk it is, I would indeed feel the same way if any person, not matter what race, did this to an innocent college student!

Well...I think half the people who left comments are decent people and half of them are right...this is in fact a hate crime. I grew up with all the victims involved and they were more than likely targeted b/c they looked like "priviledged white kids". if this was the other way around, the NAACP would have a fit trying to get white perpetrators behind bars, when they probably endorse the lowering of bail for "innocent black youth". Are you a joke??? The NAACP definitely is a joke. If they do get out of prison, i hope they realize that we do have a 2nd amendment right that states that all persons with legal status in this country may carry a firearm, i personally wouldn't mind if their next would-be victim unloaded a whole clip into all three of these punks!

Ok...I'm friends with the victim here, as is half the ECU and Pitt CC population...and if these boys get a slap on the wrist, there will be serious repercussions for this. Either let the law go and do what they need to do and if they fail, then justice will still be served. And you are right, if it was two white guys attacking a black guy, William Barber and the whole NC NAACP would be shouting Rodney King and asking for the death penalty. These boys are threats to society and they need to be dealt with effectively, if not, they better pray they can find a way to get Seth Wright's friends here in Greenville to forget a/b these mugshots...which i HIGHLY doubt will happen. Good luck fellas, we'll see you boys in court...

Yes they do deserve to be punished for what they did, I just wonder would all the people that commented on this story say the same thing if it was two white guys that had attacked a black guy??? I doubt it...

TO LAQUANNA: How many bad choices do they need to make before they pay a price. They are trouble makers that need to be removed from society!

From what i can understand alot of these wanna be thug gang members are for now students at Rose High School. They have a new principal there now in Charlie Langley. I know him very well and he will do his best to get these little punks straight. Mr. Langley will not put up with these litte wanna be gang members! Hopefully he can make some difference.
