If the BOD wants to solve the social problem, why don't dig some big houses to put in some small house neighborhood and vice versa? That way, you don't have to re-district but it is impossible.

Trust YOU. Know further than i can throw you. But you are right, its all done according to race. Sad thing about that, thats a MAIN reason our country is rotting. That along w/ idiots like obama TRYING to run the show along w/ the ones that refuse to see him for what and who he really is. Disgusting.

@Data Man...when they complain that the teacher has to go slow "at the new school", and that they "go over the same stuff" breaks my heart. We are not "rich" and can't afford private or home school...all I know is that they were much more engaged at "the old school". We suppliment at home and give them extra help and challenges.

To The Original ENC, you seem to think that your kids are so smart. I dont like what the school board does either but we have a choice. We can take our kids to private school or home school them ourselves. Pitt County makes all disicsions based on race. Trust me they will look out for the well to do areas.

3 redistrictings in 6 years is enough! Redistrict the teachers. It makes no sense to bus my children to another school 30-45 minutes away...only to be with kids that are slower than they are. THIS SCHOOL BOARD IS A JOKE. Don't even get me started on the uniform policy...another huge joke and waste of MY money. A bunch of self-important blow-hards if you ask me.

we cannot go on racial balance anymore! And there is NO need whatsoever to bus these kids from one part of town to the other. Gas is too high to be doing that. And another thing, all people who want to complain about the teachers should get their selves in there and teach! Its hard work!!!!!

It's not possible...there's no way to allow kids to go to school near their homes, while maintaining racial balance because that's simply not the way people live. You have predominantly white neighborhoods, and predominantly black neighborhoods, but absolutely nowhere in Greenville are you going to have an area where both live together in a 50/50 ratio. It's not like that anywhere. But it's really an issue with the teachers, some of these women are seriously not very smart. I had to spell my son's name to one, and his name is only 3 letters long. The kids shouldn't be teaching the teachers. Get some better educated people in the classrooms and you'll see better scores. Stop hiring people with no teaching certificates!
