Goldsboro Police have arrested a suspect in a shooting in late August. 21-year-old Kelvin James, Jr. or Pittman St. in Goldsboro was arrested early Monday on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Detectives said a brief foot chase on East Holly St. ended with James' arrest.
Police issued a warrant for the arrest of James after a shooting on August 26. Detectives say Marcus Johnson had to be airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville after getting shot in Goldsboro. Johnson was in a car with Shonshi Chavez when a car started following their car, and they were shot at on Hooks River Rd. Police say both James and 21-year-old Trevis Kinsey were wanted for attempted murder.
Kinsey has not been arrested in this crime at this time. He does have court dates this month for charges of assault by strangulation and obtaining property by false pretenses.
