First of all, who says this guy is poor? People with dreadlocks have the opportunity to have money just like the rest of us. And who says the responder Heather or this guy doesn't have a job? Most of the people up here are pathetic for not wanting to help out others and only worrying about yourself. That type of mentality is why this suspect shot someone...selfishness and no respect for others at all.

I called and Copper Beech does not accept section 8, but it doesn't matter. Just on the other side of that little fence that separates them from Moseley Drive is littered with them. I used to live over there and watched 3 teenagers get chased around by maintenance men until the police arrived and arrested the one that was left because she went running back home to her house on the backside of the street. Apparently they were breaking into the apartments out there and got caught. And let's not forget the ATM robbery at the gas station right around the corner. I'm glad I moved away from there before it got this bad. Students are crazy to move to that part of town...its becoming the new "West Greenville"!

Do You think the poor or anyone from the west side of Greenville pays taxes or even works? Your taxes are how they survive. I had to stand in line behind 3 people all who all paid with their WIC cards and food stamps. They also bout beer and cigarettes. Go figure

does copper beech seriously accept section 8 vouchers now, or was that a joke?

I'm all for Concealed Handgun Permits. I have three (NC, PA, UT), and I'm currently working toward becoming a certified NC CHP instructor. But if you want to send a message to the thugs and punks in Greenville, all you folks with permits (and legal people without them) need to start OPEN CARRYING their legal firearms in the city ALL the time. CC makes you look just like all the other sheeple. Open Carry lets EVERYONE know where you stand. Don't hide your rights. Wake up, Greenville--it's time to reclaim ownership of your city!

I guess you'd say the suspect shot his mouth off.

Honestly, I think that it is sad that the City of Greenville and the news channels do not report all of the shootings, robberies, rapes, assaults, and breaking and entering cases to the deserving citizens of Greenville. People are "shocked" that someone was shot. Someone is shot or assaulted every single night in Greenville...I know this for a fact. Granted, it is in the poor and run down sections of town. In my opinion there is NO excuse for the crime that occurs. I now carry a concealed weapon with a permit, and I HIGHLY suggest that the 15% of Greenville that does NOT have a felony charge do the soon as possible. Take it as you will, but the city may just need to fence the "west side" in with a barrier so high that these animals can't get out anymore. Stop complaining, get a job and leave us hard working citizens alone.

You will be judged by the measure in which you judge. Remember this day when you are walking in Heather's shoes.
