The U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested three register sex offenders from Pitt County who violated the conditions of their sentence.
Anthony Chaplin, 49, of Greenville, was arrested August 25 at the Horizon Hotel located at 2710 South Memorial Drive, Greenville. Chaplin was convicted of Attempted Rape in Pitt County in October 1993 and has been in violation of his registration requirements since February.
Tony Jamica Grimes, 36, of Grimesland, was arrested August 30 at 4706 Payton Lane, Grimesland. Grimes was convicted of 2nd Degree Rape in Beaufort County in May 1993 and has been in violation of his registration requirements since June of 2009.
Clyde Wesley Edmundson, 51, of Greenville, was arrested on August 27 at 1703 Stantonsburg Rd. Wilson, NC. Edmudson was convicted of Sexual Offense with Certain Victims in Durham County in August 1998. Edmunson was charged with Failure to Register on May 6, 2010.
Last year, The U.S. Marshals Service, Eastern District of North Carolina, U.S. Marshals task forces arrested more than 73,000 state and local fugitives.
Annually, the U.S. Marshals Service arrests more federal fugitives than all other federal agencies combined.
