This really makes me wonder what police are doing? I have heard countless times of black people jumping white students around down town. When will things change?

I wish it was a bad dream and I could wake up but the reality is: my son has a long road to recovery, lost time this semester at ECU and his life is on hold....but thank God, he is alive. To the ones that did this...I can only pray that you will be caught and brought to justice. I couldn't do to an animal what you did to my son. God is a God of love and not hate. Thanks to all of you that have offered your love and prayer support. We will survive this horrible incident and be better in spite of it. To God be the glory!

Anon, if you overlook Leroy's spelling he brings up a really good point. Where is the Southern Christian Leadership group who usually pops their ugly head up to stand up for the minority ? In this case the minority was the lone white guy surrounded by several scum bag thugs. Where are you SCLG ?

Reading stories like this makes me angry and the fact that you hit someone continuously with a brick while its eight on two makes you a frickin coward. i tell you how we take the streets back is when we all get handgun permits and carry them on our hips and when punks like this start trouble you put a cap in them. LOL! Then you have one less punk on the streets and my tax dollars aren't wasted by providing food and shelter for the punk the rest of his life. And I said rest of his life because he is young and already in the cycle of in and out of jail so that's where he will stay for the rest of his life. When we stop taking crap from these little punks and they have no idea if I'm packing or not they will think twice about initiation on harmless people. A couple of them need to get put six feet under while attempting this garbage and they may think twice about it.

If you want this story to get the attention it deserves, you're going to have to reach out further than Greenville. The city of Greenville and its associates are kinda like your high school prom queen -- all she wants you to see is her beautiful hair; her flawless make-up; her stunning smile; her fabulous dress. She doesn't want ANYONE to know about the red, irritated, puss-filled sore on her back-side. Reach out to national, conservative sources. Flood FOX, Rush, Glenn, etc. with this story. Forward them copies of, and/or links to, the local news coverage. If you can get some pictures of Seth showing the HORRIBLE physical damage he sustained, MAYBE -- JUST MAYBE, this story will get some actual coverage. I'll do my part -- YOU do yours. Good luck Seth!! LOTS of people are concerned for your health and safety. LOTS of people want justice served.

GDP in my opinion have not and will not carry out their jobs in fairly or consideration for anyone beside theirselves. There was an incident where my son was jumped and I called on GDP to give some assistance. That was a dead end. They offered no support, no listening ears or anything. In fact they tried to make our family feel like suspects. I work everyday and he attends schools as he should with good grade. My husband had to beg me to keep my mouth closed because one officer told me if I say another word he was going to take me to jail. I really just should have shot first and called East Care later. I pray for the families invovled but I know now you have to do whatever you have to.

I agree that this was indeed a hate crime, and the people responsible need to be punished accordingly. We are going to see more and more of this because of the devisions that are being created across the nation. Some politicians are using our fears to create tension across racial lines. Crimes are committed by people of all races.
