Greenville Police say they are investigating two assaults that happened in the same area and around the same time, in downtown Greenville early Saturday morning.
Police say the first happened around 2am in the parking lot of 6th Street and Evans.
They say officers were first dispatched to a report of an assault that had occurred in the downtown area.
They say contact was made with two victims at the hospital. The male victims said that they were jumped by several black males and suffered injuries due to the assault that were not life threatening.
The investigation for that assault is still ongoing.
Police say the second assault happened in the same area around 2:18am, also on Saturday.
They say Upon arrival officer's found a male victim lying on the ground being assaulted by 3 to 4 black male suspects. The suspects fled when they saw officers approaching, but one was apprehended and charged for the assault.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
20-year-old Dominic Green was charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury and recieved a $5,000 dollar bond.
The investigation into that assault is also ongoing.
