Its funny how people get up here and bad mouth my dad and me pretty much!!I know pretty much who you are and I know what kinda people you are too!!(Child molesters, theifs, etc.) You are no better than my father. He was a great man ,yeah he had his flaws just like everyone does, and his was alcohol.I have been with my dad for 34 yrs and i have never seen him fall like that!!He was the toughest man I knew never has he ever just laid there and not responded to me when i talked to him!!I feel in my heart that he was beaten to death! How can you explain his fingernails being ripped off? I just found out about this website and its been a year isn't that crazy? Anyways I'm pretty much lost now since my father has passed don't know which way to go but believe me justice will be served!!!!I just want to thank all of you who support my father!

To the brother of Donald Silverthorne & the mac--You have grossly misspoken. Billy was loved by many, this was quite apparent from the outpouring of support from the community, friends, and family when he was unjustly taken. He was a father, brother, grandfather, and a friend. You obviously don’t know all of his family. In response to the “live and let live” comment, did Donald have this philosophy when he brutally beat Billy, drug him from the house off the porch, & left him to freeze? Was he thinking this while he was bashing his head into the refrigerator? How would you feel if the tables were turned & your brother was dead? Any decent human would not leave their dog outside unprotected from the elements with temperatures in the teens. It takes heartless, cruel, uncaring souls to treat anyone the way Billy was left to die. All present that night should be charged, no one tried to stop it or get help. There is a place for these people—not just prison either.

Think for a minute, duhh!!! There were two people at the scene of the crime. Why is only one being charged with anything. Why was Billy left out in the cold with no shirt on. Wonder where the hypothermia came from. duhh!! I am sorry Billy died the way he did, no one deserves that. Accidents do happen. Maybe they were fighting and maybe things got out of hand. Billy did walk out of the house alive, according to both parties. So, what happened next, no body knows, maybe he did bump his head on something, maybe he did have a concussion and made it out doors before he fell unconscious. Nobody knows but GOD!! So, people need to keep there opinions to themselves. People are saying Justice is being served. Well, is it. Or is it people trying to cover upho w they miss treated Billy when he was alive. Where was all the concern when he was alive. I don't believe Donald killed Billy, and anyone that knows donald knows he isn't a murderer. They have the wrong person.

I know Donald personally, I also know that he did not commit the crime that he has been charged with. I also knew Billy and I have been around when he drank and got so drunk that he couldn't even stand up straight or walk and would fall down and hit his head. Billy was an alcoholic, a mean one at that, but when he was sober he was a pretty nice guy. Donald is also a really nice guy who enjoys drinking. Donald did not murder, Billy. This is just another example of what drunkedness and foolishness does. Donald is going to jail for something that he didn't do and Billy is dead. I am sorry for Billy's family, but I know that Donald didn't do this. I can't believe they waited 10 months to arrest him either. Whoever called in and gave a fake tip, karma is coming to get you. We love you Donald!

I am appalled at some of the comments here. While some are caring most are concerned about location. Yes Billy was an alcoholic with many life long ghosts. However there was also a time we were homeowners, a very proud time in his life. He loved grilling out, playing with the family dog, fishing and dancing. He went to work everyday and paid his bills. Unfortunately he also loved alcohol and eventually I moved aaway and started life over. Please know he laughed and cried like everyone else. He once knew what goals were. He could at times be as warm and loving as anyone. He loved Sunday dinner when the kids came along with grandchildren for the day. I lost track of Billy when I left but we never divorced. It breaks my heart he never found his way. He did not deserve to die this way, no one does. I just wanted people to know there was once a different Billy. He finally has peace and I pray he is with God now.
