To Anonymous on Aug 22, 2010 at 11:18 PM : Yes, there are ATMs on campus, a Cash Points and another near Mendenhall, I think it's Bank of America or BB&T. But even those wouldn't be safe in the middle of the night. Just do go after dark, period. Get your money before sundown or use your debit card. Most places take them. To Anonymous Location: Greenville on Aug 23, 2010 at 12:43 PM : Management and the police can only do so much. People have to be willing to work together to make their neighborhoods safe. And no one's saying sit in your house and cower in the corner until sunrise. We're saying use common sense.

I have the perfect defense for an ATM self-defense shooting...tell the judge you were MARKING the criminals for easy identification. Say your bullets are engraved with your mark (as well as a little white phosphorus)

As a female graduate student at ECU, this scares me. I live on Moseley Dr & after everything that has been going on around here recently...I think investing in a home security system is in my near future. This is just sad. I know people say that this neighborhood is always in the news with some relation to criminal activity...but I think there should be more patrol units available to at least drive by as a small deterrent for crime. I know management is trying to clean this neighborhood up, but when the residents don't feel safe around their own neighbors or people from outside of the neighborhood, someone isn't doing their job correctly.

Mike, they are also lucky it was not this Outer Banks ECU fan either that they ever robbed. I used to use that ATM sometimes back in my ECU days. This part of Greenville has gone downhill.

When I go to the bank or ATM I used the drive thru when I can, BUT I have a nice piece with ME. All the time. If someone attempa to take me on, The police will definitely find them very near the location. It is Called Smith & wesson protection. When the Police wont protect you, PROTECT Yourself. If you have money invest in alittle self-protection. 9 mm works good.

Why don't the police enforce the law? read title 18 section 241 of the U.S constitution, then enforce it.this will insure they go away for a long time and not just a slap on the risk and home for supper.

You're right! I shouldn't be able to use an ATM at night. Night time belongs to the criminals. All the "good people" should go inside and lock their doors. We should cower in a corner of the house, waiting for the sun to come up next morning.
