Greenville's Craig Goess Fastest In ARCA Practice

(JOLIET, Ill. - August 19, 2010) - Craig Goess (No. 81 Greenville Toyota of N.C. Toyota) drove the fastest lap in the morning test session at Chicagoland Speedway today, steering around the 1.5-mile oval in 30.801 seconds (175.285 mph).

Goess's Eddie Sharp Racing car was the only one of 19 entries to break the 31-second and 175-mph marks in the three-hour morning session. He completed 19 laps in all. Goess sits second in the point standings to Frank Kimmel, whose No. 44 Ansell/Menards Ford team did not enter the test.

Venturini Motorsports teammates Steve Arpin (No. 55 Mike's Hard Lemonade Toyota) and Mikey Kile (No. 25 Venturini Motorsports Toyota) finished second and third, respectively. Arpin turned his best of 34 laps in 31.001 seconds (174.188 mph), and Kile's best effort in 40 laps came in 31.067 seconds (173.818 mph).

Scott Wimmer drove a No. 31 Richard Childress Racing Development Chevrolet to the fourth position, and Chad McCumbee was fifth in his No. 1 Andy Belmont Racing Ford.

Grant Enfinger, who finished second at Chicagoland last year, drove the No. 09 Ford to the eighth spot on the chart.
