A man facing 40 counts of first degree sex offense of a child will face a judge Tuesday.
The Greenville Police Special Victims Unit arrested Lionell Marbury on January 10, 2014 for one count of first degree sex offense of a child.
Marbury, 33, was a family acquaintance of the 10-year-old victim. He was placed under a $500,000 bond at the time and has been in the Pitt County Detention Center ever since.
After conducting additional interviews and consulting with the District Attorney, Lionell Marbury was served with an additional 39 counts of First Degree Sexual Offense Of A Child for incidents occurring from 2012 through 2014. All charges stem from the same investigation involving one child.
Mr. Marbury's bond was increased to $1 million Monday afternoon.
Marbury is due in court Tuesday morning.
