While many people have evacuated areas in the path of what was Hurricane Sandy, some people from Eastern Carolina are headed towards the storm.
A team of 48 is on their way to Massachusetts to help restore power outages caused by the massive storm. The teams consists of 36 GUC employees, four employees from Asplundh Tree Service (contract crews) and eight City of Kinston employees.
Crews are headed to Westfield Gas & Electric in Massachusetts. If that agency does not need their help, they will divert to Connecticut Power & Light in Hartford.
