Two fishermen were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard after their boat ran aground near Cape Lookout.
A Coast Guard Helicopter took the two men who were aboard the "Illusion" to Fort Macon where they were met by emergency medical services Sunday night.
The 57-foot sport fishing boat began taking on water and ran aground Sunday evening. A boatcrew from the Fort Macon station first tried to rescue the fishermen, but the Coast Guard says because of shoreline surf conditions it was unable to approach the disabled boat.
The Illusion's owner is now working to salvage the boat.
