Opponents Of Ferry Tolls Taking Efforts To Raleigh

People fighting against the increased ferry tolls in the east will take their efforts to Raleigh Wednesday.

Opponents to the increase said they are focusing their efforts on state legislators. They hope to encourage them to repeal the mandate which forces the ferry system to increase revenue by $5 million by putting tolls on all ferry routes. This excludes the Ocracoke/Hatteras Ferry and the Knotts Island Ferry.

Coastal residents are outraged they are meeting in Raleigh to protest Wednesday. That is the first day of the new state legislative session.
