Family, friends and neighbors will give their final goodbye to a Hyde County Commissioner on Friday.
Hyde County Commissioner Hoover Anson Byrd died Tuesday. He was 60 years old.
The Dunn native served six years on the Hyde County Board of Commissioners. He was also a member of Swan Quarter Pentecostal Holiness Church and worked as a driver with Crop Production Services, according to his obituary.
Byrd leaves behind a wife, a son, four daughters and grandchildren.
A funeral is planned for 3 p.m. Friday at Fairfield Christian Church. Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Friday at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter.
