The National Park Service is offering two full moon tours of the 257-step Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.
The tours will be held at 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday. Each tour is limited to 30 people, and tickets must be purchased in advance.
During the climb, park rangers will tell stories about the duties of the lighthouse keepers. From the watch room, visitors will be able to view the light up close and in motion and learn about the operation of the light.
If the weather allows, climbers will be able to stand on the lighthouse balcony and see the beacon lighting up the sea.
