Coast Guard Rescue Off Cape Hatteras

Two sailors are safe after the Coast Guard pulled off a middle-of-the-night rescue mission.

Officials said the 49 foot sailing vessel "Devil Slander" called the Coast Guard at 3 a.m. Monday, saying they had taken on water and needed help. They were about 30 miles east of the coast of Cape Hatteras.

With the help of a flare and a civilian sailing yacht, the Coast Guard found the boat, pumped the water off, and towed it all the way to Beaufort.
