TV Show Helps Catch Man Wanted In Chowan County

A bank robber once featured on America's Most Wanted has been caught in Missouri.

Highway Patrol in Missouri has arrested Chad E. Schaffner.

Schaffner was wanted for robbing 10 banks across the country including Southern Bank on West Queen Street in Edenton.

He was caught at a motel about 25 miles east of Columbia.

The FBI says Schaffner was identifed after someone spotted him on the show America's Most Wanted.

    Good point mike, except you forgot slick rick lawyers, plea bargains, consolidated sentencing, and a full prison system. I would say that he is in for some serious time, however I doubt he ever has to see 70 years mandatory time.

    Great job AMW and police agencies! 10 counts of bank robbery at 20 years each to run consecutively makes this guy very old upon release. The minimum time served is 7 years each.
