There is new information about what went so fatally wrong on Ocracoke Island on the fourth of July.
Federal officials released their report on the deadly fireworks explosion to the Virginian Pilot newspaper. The report says a driver parked the truck filled with explosives and left, leaving five people behind to set up the fireworks. The crew was pushing electric igniters into the fireworks' "tails" in preparation for that nights show when a small explosion led to a larger explosion, the report said, Four people died, and the newspaper says the federal report is based on the account of the one survivor, 27 year-old Martez Holland of Goldsboro.
The Virginian Pilot says Holland has been released from the hospital after suffering burns on 20 percent of his body.
