WEATHER ALERT: Heat Advisory For Wednesday

The heat is on for Wednesday!

Many parts of Eastern Carolina will see temperatures in the mid to upper 90's with moderate to high relative humidity levels.

The National Weather Service says people in several counties should pay particular attention to the high temperatures. Tyrrell, mainland Dare and mainland Hyde counties will be under a heat advisory from noon to 6 p.m.

The weather service issues heat advisories when the heat index is in the 105 to 110 degree range. That's expected Wednesday for between three and five hours in the afternoon.

People are urged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioned rooms, and check on relatives and neighbors.
