Minister Dies On The Outer Banks

Police say a Virginia minister has died on a North Carolina beach after being pulled from the Outer Banks surf.

The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk reported Thursday that 62-year-old Rev. Clayton Thornton III of Chesterfield, Va., was pulled from the surf at Southern Shores on Wednesday.

Southern Shores Police Chief David Kole said Thornton was alive when he was pulled out of the water, but died a short time later. Kole says it appeared the minister had a heart attack.

Thornton had been senior pastor at Tomahawk Baptist Church in Midlothian for 34 years.

Chris-Where did this god (which you have never met) come from? Basically what you are saying is "I do not understand something therefore a god must have done it." This is the same rhetoric that has been passed down from generation to generation. Primative people used God to justify a tornado or the annual rainfall/flood. All you have is a "what if" scenario with absolutely no proof. Where is your proof that you are correct? And please note he said religion is a hoax, not god/creation. The Earth is older than the Bible and the Christian god. There is a 1 in million chance that your god is even the correct one. What is the real god is some god people stopped worshipping a long time ago, like an Aztec god? That is if there is a god(s). Oh and one more thing, if god had this "planned" for him, then where is the free will you Christians love to toss around?

"I got the news", how can you be so sure that this is not what God had planned for him? So religion is a hoax, where did you come from? How did you get on this earth? Sure your mother spit you out, like she should have done on the day of conception! But where did she come from? Every mother has a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother. So where did their mother, grandmother, etc come from? Who was the first? How did the first animals hit the ground on earth? How did the first trees get planted? I don't think all of it can be a "hoax" when no one can offer any proof in saying that it isn't possible! To be sure a reputable scientist would attack these claims and show proof that life was started elsewhere and other ways, but we do not see that do we? God never said his plan or his works would be what we "wanted".
