Two Camp Lejeune Marines are accused of robbing a taxi driver early this morning in Jacksonville at gunpoint.
Police say Carlos Varnell and Rushain Jones, both who are privates first class, are facing multiple charges including robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of marijuana and assault by pointing a gun.
The robbery happened around 1:10 a.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart on Yopp Road. The driver says the two robbers got away in a white Dodge Charger. Responding officers spotted the vehicle and arrested Varnell and Jones.
Varnell was jailed on a $102,000 bond, while Jones' bond is $108,000.
The two are administrative clerks at the Installation Personnel Administrative Center at Lejeune.
