Troopers say a Sneads Ferry teen that was struck by a vehicle Saturday is recovering at the hospital.
Hospital officials said on Monday morning that Cinnamon Lanier was in good condition.
Troopers said the 18 year old stumbled while walking along Highway 172 in Sneads Ferry Saturday night. That was when the driver on an on-coming vehicle attempted to brake and swerve, but could not avoid the tee in the roadway.
That driver is not facing any charges.
A Sneads Ferry teen was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries Saturday night after she was struck by a vehicle on NC 172 in Onslow County.
Troopers were called to the scene around 9:35 p.m. It happened in front of the Dollar General, just south of Country Club Drive.
Troopers say 18-year-old Cinnamon Lanier was walking on NC 172 when she stumbled into the roadway.
54-year-old Carolina Halverso of Sneads Ferry was driving on NC 172 at the time. She slammed on her brakes to avoid hitting Lanier, but was not able to.
Lanier was airlifted to the hospital.
The driver is not facing any charges at this time.
Troopers are investigating the accident.
