The Highway Patrol say a woman trying to put out her cigarette cause a school bus wreck this morning.
First Sergeant David Oglesby say around 6:40 this morning, Jordan Clark of Richlands was driving behind an Onslow County school bus. On board were 18 students heading to Trexler Middle School. Clark told troopers while traveling near Highway 111 and Bannermans Mill Road, she looked down to put out her cigarette. When she looked up, it was too late, and she hit the back of the bus.
No injuries or significant damage were reported.
Troopers anticipate a failure to reduce speed charge for Clark.
