TROOPERS: Woman Drives Into A Creek While Arguing With Passenger

Troopers say a mother, distracted while arguing with a passenger, drove off a road and into a creek with her baby in the car.

23-year-old Brittany Veitch is charged with careless and reckless driving. Trooper Chris Matos says the accident happened in Onslow County just after 4:00 Wednesday afternoon.

Matos says Veitch drove off Blue Creek Road near Ben Williams Road as she was arguing with her significant other. Her 9-month-old baby boy was in a car seat and got out unharmed.

A man who lives on Blue Creek Road says he ran down to help pull the baby from the car. No one had any major injuries.
