A second member of the military has been arrested for severely assaulting a Marine last month at a beach bar.
Surf City police say Lance Corporal Daniel Oczkowski was charged Tuesday with accessory after the fact to the assault of Elliot Stamschror.
Oczkowski is a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune.
Police say Stamschror's jaw was fractured and numerous teeth were knocked out during the May 11th assault at the Sandbar Saloon. A woman was also assaulted in the attack, according to police.
Last week, police charged PFC Joseph Henry from Fort Bragg with the actual assault.
The 21-year-old Oczkowski was released on a $10,000 secured bond.
A Fort Bragg soldier is in jail, accused of severely assaulting a Camp Lejeune Marine earlier this month in an Onslow County bar.
Surf City police say PFC Joseph Henry has been charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury and assault on a female.
Police say the assault happened on May 11th at the Sandbar Saloon. Henry is accused of fracturing Elliot Stamschror's jaw and knocking out numerous teeth. The Marine required surgery, while police say Henry also assaulted Brittany Marlow.
A couple of weeks ago police released surveillance video of the two suspects with hopes someone would recognize them.
The second man has been identified, and police are awaiting his return from deployment before officially charging that soldier.
The 20 year old Henry was jailed on a $30,000 bond.
A fight at a local bar left one person injured and now police are looking for the people responsible for the attack.
Surf City Police said Sunday morning around 1:30, two men assaulted another inside The Sandbar Saloon.
Officers released some video from inside of the bar, and we have added a couple still shots from that video to our story so you can get a closer look at the suspects.
Police said the pair left the bar in a black or dark colored sedan, possibly with New Jersey license plates.
