School Counselor Arrested On Drug Charges

A school system counselor in Onslow County is facing drug charges in another coastal county.

Brunswick County deputies say they arrested Homer Deese of Emerald Isle on several counts. Those include possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of distributing controlled substances.

The Onslow County School website says the 52-year-old Deese is a counselor at the Onslow County Learning Center. There's no immediate reaction yet from the school system.

Deputies say they arrested Deese and two other men after getting complaints of drug sales in the Leland area.

When you outlaw something that is obtained simply by planting a seed in the ground you are asking for resistance.

The only article on the front page worthy of publishing was the babysitter who was smoking weed and doing pills who killed the baby by negligence. I would make the bet that he was probably a good counselor who was tired of being under paid by the state.

I am not at all surprised at this considering I have been trying to get in touch with someone from the school board reguarding a principal that has been very unethical and have had no response and they are always out of the office. So teachers could now get away with anything bc no one is ever working at the school board they are always "out of the office" and Ive been trying for months!!!! Im starting to wonder if we really do have a school board since they have been out of the office for months!!!!!! Im really hoping that the school board gets back into the office b4 there is an article on here about the SWMS princeipals ethics!!!!

Putting anyone in danger? Selling to the children? Did he do anything bad/wrong during his tenure working in the school system?

I'm pretty positive this feller never drove a school bus or activity bus....seeing how that's the only way they can be DRUG tested. By DOT not the teachers union. NEVER This goes on all the time, he just got caught the rest of them are teaching, guiding, and influencing your children EVERYDAY.

There are professors at countless universities nationwide with PHDs who go home and light one up each night. Pot doesn't make you bad at something, you were already bad at before you smoked pot. It isn't going to make you more lazy, YOU make you more lazy. I'm sick of marijuana being the deadbeats scape goat.
