Reward Offered For Information On Maysville Woman's Death

A friend and former employer of a Maysville woman who was found dead last month is offering a reward for information in the case of her suspicious death.

Gregg Carpitano, owner of Gregg's Auto Salavage in Maysville, says he is offering a $5000 reward for information leading to the person or people responsible for Bethany Rhoades' death.

He says he will raise the amount to $7500 hopefully next week and then to $10,000 the following week. He says he's happy with the investigation and believes the SBI is working hard to solve the case, but he started offering reward money when Rhoades disappeared because Jones County doesn't have a Crimestoppers program.

He says he'll put up a billboard if that's what it takes to find who's responsible because Rhoades was like a sister to him.

Carpitano says he knows he's a suspect because he was the last person to see Rhoades alive. He says he took a lie detector test and was told he passed.

The woman's body was found February 23rd near the White Oak River Campground. Her cause of death has not been released.

Carpitano has been running ads in local newspapers with the reward offer and says if you have information you can call police or him at 910-743-3095.
