If you want to put your boat in the water in downtown Jacksonville you might want to give yourself a little extra time.
The city is planning to close Tallman Street while final paving is done on a rebuild project. The street was partially rebuilt after construction of the Onslow County Justice Center.
Paving is expected to begin Wednesday from Court Street to Riverview Drive. That's where the Wildlife Commission boat ramp is located. The city has added a temporary driveway so boaters can access the ramp from Anne Street during the construction.
The street is expected to be closed through Saturday and then after that traffic will be limited to one lane during some of the construction through April 16th.
