A passerby is credited with alerting seven people that their home was on fire Sunday morning.
Onslow County Fire Marshal Brian Kelly says no one was injured in the 10:00 a.m. fire on Falcon Crest Drive in the Southwest community.
Kelly says five children and two adults were inside at the time. He says the fire appears to have started on the left side of the home on the outside, so those inside were unaware of the fire at the time.
The home was destroyed in the fire, and with what was inside they estimate the loss around $230,000.
The fire marshal says they have yet to determine a cause for the fire, which remains under investigation.
