POLICE: Late-Night Biker Admits To Breaking Into Cars

Officers stopped a man on an early morning bike ride to discover he was wanted for old crimes and had evidence of committing new ones.

Police officers in Jacksonville said they spotted a 20-year-old man early Thursday morning in the area of Holiday City Mobile Home Park. When questioned officers discovered the man, Derrick Collins of Midway Park, had outstanding warrants. Police said Collins was found to be in possession of stolen property and narcotics, and admitted to breaking into motor vehicles and taking items, which were later recovered.

Collins was arrested and now faces multiple charges including breaking and entering,. larceny, and manufacturing marijuana to sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a daycare of park.

Collins is in the Onslow County Jail under a $56,000 bond.
