Onslow County deputies responded to the report of a fight in the street early Monday morning and say they arrived to find a man with a bloody face and blood on his chest. He said someone beat him with a gun. Deputies say there was also a pickup truck with the windshield shot out.
Deputies were dispatched to 447 Daly Street at 12:58 a..m for a fight with firearms involved and reports of multiple gunshots fired. Deputies say while driving down Daly Street on the way to the call they saw a pickup truck occupied by several people. Deputies stopped the pickup and saw two handguns in the bed of the truck. Deputies arrested two people in the truck. 37-year-old Brenda Garrett-Campos is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, and 21-year-old Joel MacCarger is charged with going armed in terror of the public.
